Most people would agree that getting
out into the countryside for some fresh and air exercise, even
a lovely stroll, makes us feel better. When we do it somewhere
like the beautiful Peak District National Park with its diverse
and stunning scenery, it seems somehow even more reviving and
energising.
To back up what we feel is right, research has
found many positive links between taking part in outdoor education
and adventure programmes and identified long lasting effects on
many areas of a participant’s life.
In the work we do with young people this is
especially important and the benefits can be grouped into skill
development and character development. They encourage active and
healthy lifestyles, benefiting each individual and wider society.
